This week schools across New Zealand are celebrating Support Staff Week.
Support Staff are such an integral part of a school and play a hugely important role in the education of our tamariki. This recognition week is our way of acknowledging, honouring and celebrating all that they do for our schools. At our school we have the most amazing team of support staff - Amber, Dianna, Glen, Grant, Hayley, Henare, Irene, Jaimee Rae, Jess, Megan, Ngaire, Rachael, Sharla, Sheryl, Susan and Yvonne. I would like to thank each and every one of them for all that they do for our kura.
This Friday 17 May is Pink shirt Day. Pink Shirt Day is all about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. As a KiVa school this is very important to us. We are hoping to see a sea of Pink throughout our school on Friday to support this cause, and to highlight as a school community the importance and need to stop bullying! Here are some of the activities we have planned for the day:

- Our awesome kaitautoko student leader group will be hosting special Pink Shirt Day activities during both breaks in our matauranga space.
- We will be holding a whole-school parade to showcase the creativity and solidarity of our students and staff to support inclusiveness and stop bullying.
- Pink Shirt Day certificates will be given to some students who consistently display Pink Shirt Day values such as being an upstander and a kind role model to others.
